Revelation 10
It is hard to comprehend the suffering of Christians across the globe. If we let it sink in it can bring so many questions like where is God? When will this end?
In Revelation we have seen the angels trumpeting the distresses of this world out for all to hear. Then there is a pause before the final trumpet - the trumpet of judgement. The pause reassures the church that we are sealed - nothing can touch us. It also addresses those questions which are the same questions that John had as he was imprisoned for his faith.
The messenger is this chapter holds the plan for salvation open and ready, opened by the lamb. He stands right there amongst creation and causes it to thunder with his roar. In all of creation God is speaking and it performs His will.
This is God's answer: when the distresses of life rises to overwhelm remember the voice of the Lord to overcome and give strength and peace. This is what John received in his distress. God is on the throne here in the midst of this and He is calling the shots. Wherever John looked he could see God in His glory.
The thunders will proclaim
The ancient God of days
One foot on the land,
One foot in the sea
How great is His love for me
