Notes

Constructing a good testimony

SimilaritySimilarity

A lot of people start their testimony with "I grew up in a Christian family".

This isn't important! It puts people off. Try to avoid starting this way.

TheologyTheology

A testimony does have theology in it, but it isn't a lecture! Keep the theology simple and subtle.

StructureStructure

There needs to be a grid around the events that happened to us - a flow that holds it all together.

IntroIntro

Acts 22:3-4

Paul starts with an intro - his old state and what he was living for.

Introduce yourself, your mission and what you are looking for. This is still the same now but is more fulfilled now in God - we'll get to that later.

JesusJesus

Talk about how Jesus fulfills those desires that became your idols. How Jesus and God became what you live for today.

ConclusionConclusion

How you gave your life to Christ. How it affects you today. How your faith continues and grows and changes. It's not just in the past, but it affects you day to day.
